DERC Workshops

DERC no longer run a series of workshops but work with other organisations and local recording groups. See the individual pages in the Local Groups section for more information on the current programmes.

DERC Training Courses

DERC does run training courses for amateurs and professionals on request. These are tailored to individuals' or organisations' requirements. In particular DERC can provide courses on the following topics:

• Grasses and sedges identification
• NVC habitat recording; previous courses have included:
  • Chalk grassland;
  • Heathland;
  • Neutral grassland;
  • Heathland and mires;
  • Coastal saltmarsh and sand dunes;
  • Cliff top vegetation.
• Use of MapInfo for collating and recording biological information.
• Habitat mapping using MapInfo.
